Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing was really a Wolf: News at 11

The minimum-wage raising bill Paris Hilton pay entitlement raising bill was defeated in the Senate, 56-42.

Of course, one could just reference the name of the bill to see what the real priority of the bill was: (emphasis mine)

A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to increase the unified credit against the estate tax to an exclusion equivalent of $5,000,000, to repeal the sunset provision for the estate and generation-skipping taxes, and to extend expiring provisions, and for other purposes.

The increase for the minimum-wage is somewhere in that other purposes section. Apparently, helping the working poor isn’t important enough to actually be referenced in the bill’s title. The agenda for Republicans is quite clear.

A compilation is here if you need to know just how sharp the knife in the back would have been.
